Timber sleeper retaining walls can be made from treated pine and are a cheaper option compared to many other types. Sleeper walls can be designed to support an excavated or a filled embankment to prevent soil from collapsing or eroding.
Timber sleeper retaining walls can be built in a wide range of sizes. Posts can use either timber or galvanised steel (I or H posts).

Concrete sleeper retaining walls are strong and not prone to rotting or termites or other insect-related issues. Concrete walls are also easy to clean and maintain.
